Senora Amelia Goyri This lady died whilst giving birth in 1901. Her body was interred with the body of her baby placed between her legs. Some years later the bodies were exhumed and the baby was in her arms. Senora Amelia is the focus of a 'miraculous' cult and her followers never turn their backs on her grave. Pregnant women and their partners come here, knock on the grave, and ask her for the healthy birth of the child. There are flowers and plaques bearing the names of healthy born babies adorning the grave. |
Tropicana Dinner Show
Cuba's most famous nightclub, opened in 1939. It has over 200 dancers performing the Tropicana's 1950's style cabaret show 'Paradise under the Stars'. A great show, although we did have a little problem with rain!

Laurie liked the show!

More Havana....
'The Malecon' an 8km sea wall constructed in 1901. We had to take a diversion in the evening due to high winds and high tide allowing waves to break right over the road and flood the surrounding area, |
This was an unscheduled stop due to a puncture. We just lazed and soaked up the sun.... |
More cars. (you will get bored with these.....) |

An alternative form of taxi. (they are not allowed to pick up tourists who are expected to be able to afford the more conventional taxis.) |
