We’re both at it now!

As the ‘Puppies Coming Home’ date gets nearer, (6 Sleeps to go) Laurie has joined in the giddiness. He must be REALLY excited as he doesn’t ‘do’ giddy very much.

The atmosphere in the house is electric. We are both doing great impersonations of Cheshire Cats.

Tomorrow we have a ‘little trip’ back down to Wootton Bassett to see the pups again. Can you imagine the car ride down. It will be like donkey from Shrek on steroids!

Cameras are all ready to be put into action. We took over 130 photos last visit!

Watch this space for more puppy photos tomorrow!

Keblawben Puppy Barrier…

If London can have the Thames Barrier.  Barlborough can have a Puppy Barrier!

To help support and protect a puppy’s bone, muscle and ligament development it is advised not to let them climb stairs until they are around 6 months old. Hopefully this will prevent hip and other joint problems later in life.

I mentioned in a previous blog about Laurie’s feat of garden engineering.

Well here it is in place….

No Entry !

No Entry !

For those of you who know our house. Taking the Boys for walks in a month or so time could be interesting!

Hippo’s Back!

Meet Hippo….

Hippo

Hippo

In 1983 a close friend of mine (Simon) bought me this stuffed hippo.                               Apart from now only having one eye, he looks remarkably good!

Benson with Hippo

Benson with Hippo

My Labrador Benson loved it and would snuggle up to it. I’m sure he thought it was his!

Bogart and Hippo

Bogart (12 weeks old) and Hippo

Roll forward 12 years to 1995 and Bogart & Charlie took a shine to it.

Hippo ready for action!

Hippo Waiting for his new friends!

27 years after hippo was bought will Reggie and Bartie feel the same? Watch this space!

Tiggerish!

Anybody who knows me will also know I do like to get excited about events. Some may even say that is an understatement!

So with only 12 sleeps to go before we bring our boys home, I am starting to do my Tigger impersonation.

Our friends children have a countdown calendar. I am on ‘sleeps’ countdown. Laurie (Bless)  is trying to keep me relatively calm. Tee hee.

Calm after the giddy…yeh right!

We spent Sunday grinning. Our friends who have been supporting us through this journey having seen the pups are ‘in love’ One of the challenges the pups are going to face when they arrive home with us is being cuddled and kissed ALL the time by the numerous people who are keen to come and see them!

Yesterday Laurie ‘created’ the step barrier for the garden. A master feat of engineering. We also put together the barrier for the house stairs. Baby gates are sorted.

First lot of food ordered another first with these pups. No loading 30kg of food into the boot. Now you sit in the kitchen on the laptop and press buttons. Them some nice people deliver it to your door! Wow.

Are we there yet???…are we there yet???…are we there…

We arrived at Tracey and Andrew’s (www.tj-canine.co.uk) at 14.00…. what a long journey down it had been.   We were both so excited that it seemed to take forever.

Megan

Once in we had lovely hugs with Mummy Megan who looked remarkably well. Then the big moment…. we got to see the pups. I had only two sentences during all the time there…. “I’m so giddy” and “they’re so gorgeous

Loz and I just beamed at each other all the time.

Today was just for a snuffle and cuddle, we were to choose our boys in two weeks time.  However, the couple in front of us had been there in the morning and chosen their baby ‘Boris’ so we knew which three we had the pick of!

Although we didn’t have to choose today. I had secretly had my eye on ‘tippex bum’ he was one of the three. Bartie was chosen. Reggie picked Loz (aka the chosen one!)…  we are in love.

These were the three we had to chose from, other than ‘tippex bum’   it was so hard…

So meet The Bargie Boys

Loz was sought out by ‘no spot’ now known as Reggie…He’s cool!

Bartie is on the left Reggie is on the right

I’m not excited at all.

The pups worn out by all the attention get together for an afternoon snooze! Group Hug!

Great thanks to Tracey and Andrew for indulging us for so long.  Lightbringer Labradors

It’s today

Well Laurie got a lie in this morning I didn’t wake him up to be excited till 6.15!

It is still misty but at least we can see across the road this morning and the forecast is good 22c.

Camera batteries are charged and ready to capture the gorgeous pups…watch this space
