Negretti & Zambra are one of the most important manufacturers of Barographs. Whilst they are not a clock, they do have a clock mechanism to drive the drum and record the atmospheric pressure. This is an 8 day model which for many years was the recording instrument for a Scottish coal mine. Many thanks to my good friend Tom who generously gave it to me to restore, keep and cherish.
Phew! …just made it.
The ‘Clock‘ theme hasn’t been as lucrative as expected. To finish it off we have a picture of Kairen’s beautiful watch.
A beautiful sunny day and most of it spent in the garden with friends, playing three dimensional connect-4.
Louise started her chemotherapy last Thursday. She was good on Friday, but I’ve been worrying about her all week-end because she hasn’t telephoned.
I eventually called her after a day spent reading The C-Word by Lisa Lynch.
She’s not had a great week-end but seemed in good spirits. I’m so sad that my lovely sister has to go through such an experience.
This slightly corroded Mercedes badge was taken just seconds before I handed the keys over for ‘Mickey’ Mercedes to go to another home. We’ve had him nearly 7 years and it’s not been the most reliable relationship, but I was sad to see him go.
‘Alfie’ Audi arrives next week, hopefully, if the DVLA get their fingers out and transfer my number plate.
It’s a shame that I cut off the badge at the bottom…… doooh! … but it was a grab-shot!
I have my birthday present! Surprising as my birthday isn’t until August! I also have a monster hangover…but we won’t dwell on that!
Kairen has bought me an IPad. They are not available in the UK yet but a good friend went shopping in NYC.
It’s the big one too …..64gb (You can never have enough memory.)
