Day 81
March 22, 2010It was very hot and humid in Singapore today, quite unpleasant at times. We wandered down to Chinatown and the little streets were airless.
These fans were on sale by one of the street vendors and caught my eye.

Amazing news from Freo! We’ve only been left 48 hours and after no rain since November they have 35mm in one hour! People were wading thigh deep on the road behind our house and swimming across the Esplanade Park. Chris’s friend has 300 dents in a brand new Jaguar, caused by golf ball sized hailstones.
This stack of material for shirt tailoring caught my eye.
There are so many shops in Singapore of all sorts and types. Every so often one takes you by surprise. This store in the Marina Square Mall is Synwin Violins which stocks an amazing number. They are not cheap either!
After a 14 hour flight and rush hour drive from London Heathrow to home we eventually arrived back to our beautiful home. Five months away is a long time, probably too long.
Our wonderful neighbours had arranged a full-English breakfast to welcome us back. Friends were visiting all day and the telephone never stopped. We had flowers and cards to say welcome home.
Jet-lagged and very tired after 36 hours on the go we gave in to befuddled brains and hit the bed at 9pm. We were awake and drinking tea again at 3am!
A morning shopping to start to refill the fridge and freezers. Fuzzy jet-lagged brains take over come the afternoon.
These dwarf narcissus are the only colour in the garden at present, but a sure sign that Spring is on it’s way. However, it’s not very warm outside, just 12c, brrrrr…..
Lovely crisp sunny day and the jet-lag is waning. The clocks go forward tonight which should help us.
This ornament in our garden has survived the cold of the winter
A piece of engineering that could well be a sculpture.
It’s great to be back home with my favourite lenses. I just so took the wrong ones away to Australia. (This is the 70-200 f2.8 IS.)
