Brisbane The train journey from Cairns had been slow and relaxing. Arriving in Brisbane which is Australia's third largest city was a bit of a shock to our relaxed senses. The pace was up and there were a lot more people than we had encountered for several weeks. First task was to do something about the camera situation. Unbelievably a local camera shop had a replacement for Laurie's camera so whilst they almost impossible to find in the UK and USA we made the latest of several distress purchases. Laurie was happy again, but it was a $$$ ouch! We had a liquid dinner to celebrate the buy and started to enjoy the very cosmopolitan atmosphere, great street-cafe culture and beautiful riverside of the city.
These falls were in the Roma Street Parkland next to our hotel. |
